The Chasdei Yehuda Soup Kitchen
About Yehuda Grienfied OBM
Yehudah was born in Chaifa to Avraham and Bilhah Greenfeld. He learned in the religious elementary school of “Tzion Ezri” and then moved to the junior high school of “Mekor Chaim”. For high school, Yehudah attended the Yeshiva High School of Merkaz HaRav. He was an active member of the Ezra youth group and was a madrich in its “GIGI” branch.
Upon finishing high school, Yehudah learned for two years in the Ateret Cohanim Yeshiva and then was drafted into the paratroopers unit of the IDF. After serving for a year and a half in the hesder program of the army, he moved to Yeshivat “Ayelet HaShachar” in Eilat and studied there for three years.
At that point Yehudah married Gavriela and moved to the Jerusalem area where he studied in the Netivot Yisrael yeshiva for six years. After six years Yehudah decided to prepare for a career in biotechnology and entered Hadassah College.
Yehudah was called up to duty in the recent Lebanon war but was not allowed to fight in his paratrooper unit as he had injured his shoulder hiking. He was put into a different unit and killed in the bombing of Kfar Giladi in the Galil.
Yehudah left behind his wife Gavriela and two young children, Raaya Shulamit and Ron Avichai.
The Chasdei Yehuda Soup Kitchen
In memory of Yehudah we have decided to open up a Soup Kitchen, which will feed needy people in Eilat and give them support with medicine and other issues.
It is our hope that Yehudah whose constant presence in the Beit Midrash even late into the night, will gain zchuyot in shamayim from the Chesed of those who receive Food from our soup Kitchen.
His memory should be a blessing for us all
